Title: Aidan of Oren - The Journey Begins Author: Alan St. Jean Publisher: Moo Press Inc. ISBN: 0-9724853-5-X Genre: Juvenile Fantasy
What if your country’s future depended upon you? What if you discovered you were to fulfill an ancient prophesy that would decide the fate of your people? That’s what life is like for Aidan, a thirteen-year-old boy living in the country of Lionsgate, a beautiful island where animals talk, and dreams come true.
Aidan’s nearly perfect life comes to a sudden halt, when he learns that HE is the one that will end the terrible war that has descended upon his beloved homeland. He must find the guardians of Lionsgate, who mysteriously disappeared from all know existence. The only ones who have any clue where they are, are the elves.
But Aidan can’t fulfill his destiny without someone to go with him. Aidan’s two friends, Lilly and McKenzie, who live at the orphanage, volunteer to tag along. And Aidan’s pet falcon, Charles, unwillingly joins them.
Can Aidan reach the elves in time? Or is all of Lionsgate doomed? There’s only one way to find out! Pick up a copy of Aidan of Oren - The Journey Begins today!
I enjoyed this book because it teaches valuable lessons about friendship and following your dreams. The storyline is filled with twists and turns, and the characters are very well developed. I also liked the 60 detailed pencil drawings, which add wonderful, new dimensions to the story. If you like Tolkein, Lewis, and company, you’ll love Aidan of Oren - The Journey Begins. And watch for the next two books in the Aidan of Oren trilogy.
