Title: Beneath a Southern Sky Author: Deborah Raney Genre: Inspirational/Romancee After years of serving as a missionary in the jungles of South America, Daria Camfield returned to the States to mourn the death of her husband, Nate, reportedly killed while providing medical aid to a neighboring village. Soon after returning to the States, Daria gives birth to Nate’s daughter, Natalie. At first, Natalie is the only thing that brings Daria comfort. But time heals all wounds and eventually, Daria looks for a job and an apartment. She finds a friend in her new boss, veterinarian Colson Hunter. As time passes, Colson becomes more than a friend, and against the advise of her former in-laws, Daria accepts Colson’s marriage proposal. She neglects to pray for God’s guidance in this matter. Things start falling apart when she finds she’s expecting Colson’s child. An unexpected telegram turns Daria’s dream life into a nightmare. "Nathan Camfield found alive…" Now two men have a right to her daughter, her life and her love. Daria is faced with an impossible decision. Will she return to her beloved first husband, abandoning Cole? Or will she reject Nate and choose the only man her daughter has ever called "Daddy"—a man she loves with all her heart? Beneath a Southern Sky is a wonderful story, which captured my interest from page one and kept me turning pages. I found myself deeply entwined in the characters’ lives and cried all the way through this book. I highly recommend this book for your church library, your personal library, and as gifts at Christmas. | |
