Genre: Inspirational/Romantic/Suspense

Matthew Strong is the top contender for Missouri State Senator, but without warning, he drops out of the race. He believes his adopted daughter’s biological father is trying to extort money for his drug habits, and Matthew fears that if he runs, the biological father will drag Matthew’s family through the mud.

Raven Mahoney is in the running for the open anchor position at the local television station—if the boss’s daughter doesn’t get the position. She is convinced that if she can get an exclusive interview from Matthew, her future is secured. She has a past relationship with Matthew and hopes she can use that to her advantage.

From the beginning Matthew seems to know why Raven has resurfaced in his life, and he refuses to give in to her requests for an interview. But he is still open to renewing his relationship with her. As they get closer, someone starts sending threatening emails and attempts to kidnap his daughter. Will Matthew and Raven have what it takes to survive the attacks against their love?

Betrayal of Trust is a cute romantic suspense. Raven is a lovable character, determined to get the promotion she dreams of and won’t allow anything to stand in her way. Unfortunately, that means she keeps her loved ones at a distance, even though she wishes she could be closer to them.

I thoroughly enjoyed Betrayal of Trust. It is a wonderful ending for The Mahoney Sisters series. Perfect for a mystery lover and romance lover both, Betrayal of Trust is a great stocking stuffer. 250 pages. $4.95.
