The Nilsson family has migrated from Sweden and settled in a Swedish community in Minnesota. There, each of the brothers seek a wife.

In The Other Brother Olina Sandstrom’s fiancé, Lars Nilsson has promised her that he’ll make her his bride. He leaves her in Sweden and heads for America. Now five years later, Lars has finally sent the money for Olina to join him. When Olina arrives in America, she learns that Lars has married someone else. Is it possible for her to love the other brother?

In His Brother’s Castoff August Nilsson loves Anna Jensen, but she used to be Gustaf’s fiancé. Now Anna is reeling from the death of yet another fiancé. Will August be able to get past the fact that she used to date his brother, and court her himself?

In Double Deception, Ollie and Lowell are both falling in love with a mysterious young woman who is visiting town with her father. She seems to be encouraging both men’s affections. Ollie and Lowell are close to coming to blows over Rissa, but then they learn something that could mean the difference between heartbreak and true love.

In Gerda’s Lawman, we meet the Nilsson brothers’ sister. Gerda is envious of her brothers and their happy marriages, but fears there is no chance of a romance for her. At least until a tight-lipped cowboy rides into town. Will Gerda learn to lean on her faith?

Each of these four stories were previously published individually by Heartsong Presents, and are now available in one easy-to-read four in one. I had the privilege of reading three of the four stories as they came out, and enjoyed reading the first one in the series, to find out what started it all.

The stories are well-written, the characterization is outstanding, and the faith message is expertly woven in. I highly recommend MINNESOTA BROTHERS as a great book to read this season. $10.95. 459 pages.
