Title: The Root of All Evil Author: Brandt Dodson Publisher: Harvest House ISBN: 0736918116 Genre: Inspirational/Suspense
The Root of All Evil is book three in the Colton Parker series and Brandt Dodson just keeps getting better.
Wealthy businessman, Berger Hume is very ill. He hires Colton to find the son he’s never seen, the result of an old love affair. Berger wants to make amends and possibly change his will before he dies. Colton takes the job because, as usual, he’s broke. He’s struggling to keep his business going while handling the problems of a single parent trying to raise a teenage daughter. Sometimes handling the business is easier.
What should be a routine case turns deadly when Colton discovers the missing son has enemies who want him dead and don’t mind killing a few innocent people who might get in their way. The son won’t win any citizenship awards, and Colton has his hands full trying to keep him alive long enough to meet his father.
Brandt Dodson comes from a long line of police officers and his research is impeccable. Reading one of his books is like being allowed to sit in on a police investigation. His writing is clean, tight, and loaded with suspense. Original Sin, Seventy Times Seven, and The Root of All Evil, books one, two, and three of the Colton Parker series are private eye novels as they should be written. I’m delighted to have discovered this very talented writer.
