Title: RV There Yet? Author: Diann Hunt Publisher: WestBow Press ISBN: 1-5955-4142-X Genre: Inspirational/Womenlit
DeDe Veihl and two of her close friends, Millie and Lydia, decide to embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they travel across-country by RV to their old camp reunion. The RV is old and has definitely seen better days, but nevertheless, the fifty-year-old ladies and Lydia’s pet parakeet pile in and start out.
It doesn’t take long to figure out that this is going to be some trip. The RV’s roof leaks, and all DeDe can think to repair it with is duck tape. After all, that works for everything. So now the roof looks like a tic-tac-toe game, and to amuse herself, DeDe resorts to playing practical jokes on her travel companions, including rearranging their sock drawers.
As the trip continues the three friends face many adventures together, including bears, chiggers . . . and love. How will this trip change their lives?
RV There Yet is a totally fun book that had several laugh out loud moments in it. Even though I am not yet old enough to wear a red hat, I still enjoyed reading about the adventures of these three friends and felt that I could have been their friend too.
The story is impeccably written, the plot line interesting, and the faith message is expertly woven in. I even liked the characters. Pick up RV There Yet for a wonderful read. $14.99. 322 pages.
