About Eloise Schroder, Webmaster of The Christian Fiction Site:
Ellie has loved Christian fiction for many years, after being introduced to it back in 1990. She developed "The Christian
Fiction Site" back in 1998 under the former title "Ellie's World of Christian Fiction" after seeing the need for an online
resource site for readers to become more familiar with Christian fiction titles on the market. Since then, she has maintained
the site in her own spare time, as well as juggling a full-time job with GPH Wholesale, a distributor of Christian literature, and being
part of the worship team in her local church. Ellie lives in Palmerston North, New Zealand, with Dion, her husband of
more than 10 years.

Author Profile Interview
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother of eight of the most gorgeous grandchildren. I live in North Central Florida with my husband. I started writing Christian Fiction when our youngest son was completing high school.
In an effort to help other Christian fiction writers I co-founded American Christian Romance Writers Inc., now known as American Christian Fiction Writers Inc.
2. How did you become a novelist, and did you always want to write?
I’m not your typical writer. I did not grow up with the desire to write, in fact, reading was my poorest subject when I was in school. I started writing as a way to pass on information to others who had similar interests as I did at the time. After completing my second non-fiction book, I had a picture form in my mind. I thought, why not write it down? Three days later I emerged from my office with a forty-five thousand word story. It took the Lord another couple years before I realized I should to become a writer and study writing and writing techniques.
3. What do you think is significant about Christian fiction?
Christian fiction to me is an opportunity to share my faith in a non-threatening manner, and yet it also becomes a vehicle to challenge others to go deeper in their own walk with the Lord. I think it also provides a glimpse for non-believers to see that we are regular people who have a relationship with a loving God who genuinely cares about us.
4. How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?
Positively, of course. I hope I fulfill their entertainment expectations as well as keep them turning the pages and wanting to read more good books by myself or other Christian Fiction writers.
5. What responses to your novels have affected you the most and why?
I suppose the most touching are when people share how reading my book helped them overcome a problem in their own lives. For example: a letter I received from a prisoner who now sees the error of his ways in a rape case. He’d always justified his actions and didn’t understand why he was in prison. After reading my book, he understood he’d been very wrong.
6. How has being a novelist impacted your relationship with Christ?
I’ve tried to examine more closely my shortcomings when I’m struggling through times of faith stretching. This allows me to write similar experiences and responses for my characters. Another, more important impact, is to try to learn from this trial and not have to go through it again.
7. Other than writing great novels, what other goals do you have for your life?
To be the best wife and help-mate for my husband, a great mom to my adult children, and a super grandma to my grandchildren.
8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time? What’s that? Seriously, I’m looking into doing more digital photography and I have a dream of restoring travel trailers. I know it’s an odd dream, but it seems creative and will hopefully produce a unique travel trailer.
9. What can you tell us about your latest novels?
Fighting for Bread & Roses is just released and is about the murder of Anna Lopizzo, a textile worker who participated in the deadly “Bread and Roses” strike of 1912. This brought historical fiction author, Lindsey Taylor, to Lawrence, Ma. While researching her next novel, another mystery unfolds—the supposed drowning of Jenna Waverly in the frozen Merrimack River. Had she killed herself, or was it just an accident—or worse?
The story doesn’t stay in the past, as Lindsey’s own life is threatened. What has she unearthed?
10. What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?
Currently I’m on deadline for a novella in the Kentucky Keepers Anthology, Barbour Publishing. My story is
Hook, Line and Sinker. The hero is a carpenter and loves to fish. The heroine is a mystery writer who needs an addition for her home when she finally wins the custody battle for her eight year old son.
I’m happy to say, Lindsey is doing research in Savannah, Ga. for the second story in the Lindsey Marc mystery series, and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble she’ll get into up there.
