How would you like to be royalty? As part of a special history class project, Andrea Carey and Justin Davies will have two wonderful weeks to be king and queen of the fifth grade at Payton Intermediate School. During this time their classmates must obey them and, if they don't, it's into the dungeon for them. Plus, with school elections coming up, Justin figures that as king he'll be a shoe-in for class president. Could life be any better? Andrea and Justin are about to find out.

Fifth grade has never been quite as outrageous as it becomes in this hilarious send-up of political ambitions.

Here's An Exert From Kathryn Lay's Children's Novel, Crown Me!:

Mr. Bailey explained, "Obey them as if they were your leaders, that is, unless it is dangerous or illegal. I will be the final judge of anything they ask you to do. If there are disagreements, your king and queen will explain their decisions in front of the whole class. They can decide on their own to throw you into the dungeon, but they must agree together to set you free." He snapped his fingers. "Oh yes, and you will bow or curtsy whenever they pass."

"I'd never seen so many shocked faces. Mouths opened. Eyes widened.

I couldn't believe my ears. It was a dream come true...I was king and the twenty-two kids in front of me were my subjects.
