Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald and the Alameda East Veternary Hospital, in Denver, Colorado. The staff photo is seen at right. For the story, interview questions were passed on to Dr. Fitzgerald through Michael Davis in Denver, Colorado. The answers were then mailed to Jason by Davis. The story had been previously published in the "Bunny World News", Sept. 29, 2000 edition (seen below). The Alameda East Better Hospital was the subject of a story in the "Denver Rocky Mountain News", Sunday, August 8, 1999 edition. They are also the "set" of the television show "Emergency Vets". The Bunny World News was sent to family and friends by Jason McDonald for a year or so before it was put online on a free server website.
Later, the free server site was cancelled, and the newspaper was put onto a site called "Creative Kids", which was a sub-site of Dancing Word. Later, the site name became "KidMagine".
Today, KidMagine is displaying all the old stories, and some new ones, via the online newspaper, Sunset Gazette, formerly the Bunny World News.
Five years after the stories' first appearance in the Bunny World News, the "Local Dog Bites Porcupine; Gets Mouthful of Quills" story has been dug out of the archives and put into the May 2005 edition of Sunset Gazette.
Oh, and one last thing. The "Local Dog Bites Porcupine; Gets Mouthful of Quills" story is based off a true story. The real dog, who actually DID bite a porcupine, was treated by Dr. Fitzgerald at the Alameda East Animal Hospital.
