Anne McDonald: Let's go ahead and get started. I'll open in prayer, go over protocol, then introduce our guest.

Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. We praise You for Your grace and mercy. Please be with us tonight as we learn more about using our gifts for You. Bless Janet as she teaches us and bless each person that comes here tonight. Let us be a blessing to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I have the pleasure of introducing one of my favorite authors tonight. She writes both fiction and nonfiction books, and graciously shares her experience with us. Please welcome, Janet Chester Bly.

* AzAnnie leads the applause and hands the floor over to Janet.

Linda:

Janet Chester Bly: Thank you, Annie!!

We will become the writer of the themes, issues, and topics we are uniquely called by God to write, when we uncover our passion, our own inner fire. For some, this is a long, lifetime journey. For others, they find it right away and go for it. But the catalyst is different for us all.

Here is a list of ten ways for finding God's will for your writing (and your life!).

God may steer you to a particular place. Abraham pulled up stakes and headed for Canaan land. Your writing may depend on being in the right place. Winchester, Idaho, was the right place for me and Steve, just to have the TIME to write as much as we have.

You may be faced with a perplexing problem. You got problems? Rejoice! Out of these will come your writing fervor. Our biggest challenges may hit us right at home. That's how all our family books happened.

You may have the privilege of parenting. Any mothering or fathering or shepherding/discipling role can grow into powerful writing projects. Our best writing comes out of our experiences in life, such as doing family or making and keeping friendships. Several of my books, The Heart of a Runaway and Friends Forever, and a new book I'm working on now evolves out of the ups and downs with friends.
